I'll stick to the facts- you can decide on a conclusion.
I bought an ex-display Nexus 7 from ebuyer. Delivery was prompt.
The unit stopped working after 24 hours normal use.
Contacted ebuyer- they said I had to call Asus. The Asus guy told me that my purchase date didn't match their records- turns out the unit had been previously sold five months earlier (therefore not just ex-display) and returned as faulty. He reluctantly gave me a fault code (required from ebuyer before I could return the unit). The ebuyer website states that in these circumstances, ebuyer will refund postage costs for returning the item- you just put the receipt in the box. Did that. A week or so later, I got a refund on my credit card account for the cost of the item, but not the postage. This was my first and last purchase from ebuyer.
12/4/13- UPDATE: Out of fairness to ebuyer, I am posting this update. I was contacted via email by Nikki, who asked if I had a copy of the postage receipt for the returned item, which I had. I sent a scan of it as an attachment, and have just noted that the postage has been refunded.

Used Ebuyer for many years and put through £1000s worth of orders for my business and many more £1000s through referrals – never again. Haven’t used them much for the last year as their service began to deteriorate with problems on a disproportionate amount of orders.
I gave Ebuyer the opportunity to address these issues several times but they came back with stock cut and paste answers and unbelievably it appears that their MD would rather would rather lose £1000s of business rather than refund £71 for selling obsolete products.
They have 5 fundamental issues.
1: Delivery – they use/have used poor delivery companies – many similar issues as other posters – cards not being left – no shows etc. Any snow - forget it! December 2010 I lost £100s as they couldn’t deliver – this went on for weeks with over £300 tied for goods not received.
2: Product descriptions – sure they have a wide range but that’s not a good enough excuse. I found some Incomplete or erroneous. Had to bin over £70 of component cards as they were incompatible and, in fact, damaging to some motherboards. Ebuyer should never have been selling these as they would not work with Windows 7 or Vista. Couldn't get this resolved as Ebuyer insisted that there was no fault on them - so not return.
So they were selling obsolete products produced by a manufacturer that appeared to be out of business within weeks of my purchase - the website domain was for sale. How is that right and proper?
3: Payment processor - Don’t change your debit card or use PayPal - there will be problems. For example, I placed an order with them on a Saturday for a Monday delivery before noon. Money immediately taken from verified business PayPal account used with them on several occasions. Monday morning I receive an email stating that payment had been processed! A call to their “customer services” established that this was because of their payments system – no apology.
The excuse of “because of security checks” adding up to 2 days on to deliveries is very lame – especially if you have 5 years history with them.
4: Returns – yes, they have a system but it’s slow and cumbersome – sometimes forcing you into calling them rather than being able to raise a RMA on-line.
5: Customer services – your choice is a slow/sometimes unanswered e-note system or paying for the privilege of calling them - 10p a minute. Whilst fairly friendly, you may as well be speaking with a voice-activated robot which has about the same amount of interest in your situation. There is no concept or understanding of how frustrating and time wasting late/no show deliveries are.
My purchase in December 2012 will be my last – they were truly outstanding but now they’re just not worth the time and effort.
You may get lucky but any problems just don’t expect support.
My advice is to use Amazon – even if a little more expensive they are at least more reliable and returns system much easier when required.

Ebuyer: Complete Disappointment
On Monday 11th March I placed an order from Ebuyer for a Samsung TV UE40EH5000K
This has become the worst decision of my life since until today I do not have what I paid for; just a broken TV sitting pretty in my seating room.
After I placed the order, Ebuyer despatched the TV using Yodel, a courier company, the driver of this company left the item outside my flat in an unsafe place (a cupboard with no lock), after several calls, emails, stress, a questionable visit and calls from the Yodel driver, and being treated in a very unprofessional way by Ebuyer Customer Service, they agreed in sending me another TV which, to make everything worse, has a crack on the screen. In the last email we received from Ebuyer, the Manager Director Assistant says that Ebuyer “is not responsible for the conditions in which the TV was delivered to me and that I should contact the manufacturer”, I have even been accused of making up the story of the crack on the screen. As anyone would be able to realize this statement goes against the Sale of Goods Act 1979, which states that goods supplied by a trader (Ebuyer) must be of satisfactory quality, I wonder if Ebuyer does realise that they are in breach of a law?
The only thing Customer Service has been able to provide me with is ‘Sorry for the inconvenience caused’ as if that would make all this disappointment go, I do not understand if they actually realize that their apologies do not do anything to solve the problem this company has created for me.
Until today I am still fighting with this company, in hope that they realize the bad trading standards they hold.

I've been using Ebuyer now for around 9 years and have always been impressed by their service. Their prices are usually the cheapest around (even for TVs, from whom I've purchased 2) and their customer service is very good.
I've had a few things to return over the years; the most memorable was a GeForce 6600GT - it died with about 8 days remaining on the warranty period. I sent them an eNote (their communication system, if you don't want to phone them) and they arranged a collection on it within 24 hours and gave me a full refund on the item (they no longer stocked the card after almost 12 months). With the full refund, I managed to get an 8800GTS with change to spare!
The deliveries always arrive - at the very latest - on the 5th working day if I choose 'super saver' delivery option (though it is usually a lot faster).
I cannot fault them one bit - at every point and turn, they really do exceed my expectations. Ordering is a breeze, deliveries always turn up on time and returns are hassle-free.
I would, and have, recommend Ebuyer to anyone.
rma nightmare with ebuyer 3 days of ringing and continually being cut off after getting to second place in queue, eventually getting through sent through to tech support had to send pics of item eventually accepted and given rma number arranged for collection twice never bothered to turn up (yodel enough said!),now given up and will never buy from these jokers ever again!.

just an update - spoke to ebuyer on the phone on Friday about
my gtx 570 i payed 240 for it in may 2012 but it has now become faulty,
ive had it 10 and a half months they offered approx 150 partial refund on
a product 10 months old i refused.
i contacted the card maker directly in Holland MSI they said mail it to
them they will fix it as its covered by my 2 year warranty.
so return to ebuyer and get 150 of 240 back
or send it back to the manufacturer costing me 21 pounds and they
will repair it and send it back free....... hmmmm its a tough one
and 99% of places if you buy a product in the uk and it breaks in less than
a year, they offer a replacement or full refund... why do ebuyer keep saying
they only have refund a portion if u had it less than a year...that is not true.
anyways rather than send my card back for a 60% refund and a loss of 90
pounds on a product ive used for 10 and a half months, ill spend 21 pounds
and mail my graphics card to HOLLAND and let MSI fix it directly .

having bought a USB adapter and Micro SD card for £9 i am glad i have learned my lesson on small amount of money as i was going to purchase a Graphics card for over £200 next (that wont be happening, not with Ebuyer at least). Ebuyer have sent my purchased items to a wrong address even tho i had a print screen to prove that i clearly ticked the correct address. i called them and probably spent more money on the phone call than the actual purchase, just to find out by Sam (customer advisor) that they could care less where the delivery went, wouldn't even let me speak to their supervisor or a manager. Would not refund the money + would not resend the goods to correct address = you will never see your £9. Customer service is shocking, i thought Ebuyer had generally exemptible standards of respectable and moral behaviour, i couldn't have been more wrong. I am glad they are not a monopoly so i can spend my money elsewhere.

Kingston 16GB Class 10 MicroSDHC Card £11.51 delivered, I bought two for £21.51 delivered, checked out via paypal & the amount changed from £21.51 to £24.99. Cost me £2+ to phone them to cancel the order - Disgraceful service from a UK company, will never be buying from them again. Customer service very slow too.
I have been a satisfied customer with Ebuyer for years, and was a bit disappointed to see the many critical reviews that they now attract.
I recently ordered an assortment of goods from the website and was pleased with both the rapidity of delivery (goods came in two seperate parcels, one via Parcel Force, and the other via Initial) and the quality of the goods. So, for me, no problems.
I got the feeling that the website was not nearly as good as it used to be. One of my purchases was a photo bag, and the site did not even quote dimensions! This is ridiculous, and I was forced to resort to Amazon for details, whilst eventually ordering from Ebuyer, who offered a better price!
Good experience, good variety of products, and one of the best competitive prices on the web. Of all the products i purchased all were delivered promptly, only once had a DOA product which they swapped quickly and effortlessly. Highly recommended
Bought nearly £900 of goods of ebuyer 13th March. Came on 14th but graphics card failed. Sent back 15th.today after over a week waiting without a pc ive started paying for ebuyer have said yes pc was faulty and will send me new 1 next week as my 1 out of stock at mo.when a brand new item delivered faulty ebuyer should send replacement out next day.if I had had it a while I would have totally understood. Spent a fortune on the calls and not to mention the inconvenience and ebuyer have said no to anything in the way of compensation.this is terrible customer service.

Ebuyer is not what it was, their support seems to depend on who answers the phone. I was told (17:30 21/03/2013) that it was not a persons job to assist with Yodel delivery issues as they had not yet attempted delivery and it was due tomorrow, even though they (Yodel) had turned up and played knock and run yesterday, then only delivered part of the order when I chased the van this morning! Other people are very polite and offer to help but nothing happens.
Yodel are and are renown for being effectively useless, Ebuyer is going the same way! Surely customer service is everyone's job as sales outlet!
Customer experience is everything, there are other companies that know and retain this value, use one of them not Ebuyer, the deal may not be quite so good but if there is an issue you will have more chance of getting it sorted.
Not good, one customer of many years who is unlikely to use them again, especially while they use Nodel, sorry Yodel.

I have just encountered the same problem as many on here with Ebuyer and Yodel. Yodel are claiming they have attempted to deliver 3 times and left a calling card on each occasion, This is simply not true as I have received no calling cards and have had numerous other couriers deliver items in the last week. If I had of got a card I would have gone and collected it from the depot myself!!!
Ebuyer are now going to refund me the cost of the goods, but they are refusing to refund me the courier cost (which was stupidly expensive in the first place for what I ordered) which I find unbelievable. I can understand things don't always go right, but you can't expect to keep your customers if you are going to essentially call them liar's by taking the side of a courier which has such a terrible reputation anyway.
I will never be purchasing anything from ebuyer again due to this experience.
Ordered quite happily for years until 2008 when I moved address (after 28 years at old address). Since then, any orders I place are immediately cancelled by their "Security Measures".
They ask for further identification including passport or driving licence (which I have supplied) and 2 utility bills which I don't have (live with parents). I have since sent bank statements and a PAYE coding notice from HMRC - All clearly stating my current address.
They have lost £2000+ of business since 2008! I don't get this from any other service supplier! I thought PC-WORLD were bad!
Ordered a Cpu on the Thursday paid about £10 (very expensive when other shops can do it for £5.99)for Next Day delivery. Waited in all day and no delivery, despite tracking saying it was on the van. Checked tracking later in the day and it said Yodel had attempted twice to deliver and left card? No one had called at all. Tracked later and it said another attempt had been made at around 21.30! Pack of lies. Contacted ebuyer only to be told they are looking into it with Yodel, and they were waiting for them to reply. If that was Amazon I would have been refunded all my delivery charges straight away, no questions asked.. To be fair ebuyer have no control over a courier but there are much better couriers about and cheaper to. Sadly after over 10 years of being a loyal ebuyer customer that was my last order. Ebuyer customer service and returns procedure need to be updated now otherwise customers like me will go elsewhere.
Hello all.... Ebuyer use Yodel if you make an order you might get it and yet again you might not and Yodel will tell you it's delivered but it's not. I wasted a day and lost money needed parts for a job lost the job and lost a very good customer! Ebuyer don't care and won't offer a refund even though Yodel never delivered and there website tracking is lies total bullsh*&t. I want my money back asap ebuyer, I do not like Fraud! Customer lost for ever been a customer from 2002 spent thousands but at the end of the day Both companies don't give a flying f*$k about the most important thing NO1 THE CUSTOMER I am shocked that every custom counts with the recession not Ebuyer. One star too many. Hey Tom almost in the same boat fancy me and you taking them to the small claims lol :p

Came across Ebuyer and found their prices to be very competitive.
Thinking it may be too good to be true (and mindful of reviews) only ordered two items for my new business with the view of testing the service before furnishing my sales office with equipment.
Seems that the issues detailed below are common place....
Yodel said they had attempted delivery 3 times, yet never did. Waited in all day (and the re organised days) and no one came, no note was left, nothing. Logged onto their tracking service to find they had apparently been at my door on more than 3 occasions!! Nonsense.
Called Ebuyer to ask what was happening, they didn't know? Asked if they could send to an 'easier to find address' (I live just off the busiest bus route in europe - Manchester's Oxford Road - VERY EASY TO FIND) they said they couldn't so I requested a refund which they stated would be issued within 3-5 working days when the item was returned.
One month on and 20 minutes on hold to Ebuyer they say they don't know whats going on and will get back to me....?
Needless to say I will not be in contact to buy the 60 PC's, Phones and accessories I need for my sales team.

Over the years I have ordered 60 times from ebuyer and spent thousands. Overall I cannot complain about anything really. When I have had problems with purchases, they have been dealt with efficiently by ebuyer. The prices are competitive and the choice is expansive. It is my "go to" place for PC hardware and electronic gizmos.
Obviously some angry people who have immediate problems will come to sites like this and criticise, which is fair enough I suppose.
I have only just signed up to trust pilot today to review another company and thought I would add my views on my experiences with the online retailer which has taken most of my money over the years. I wont use amazon again because of their tax avoidance practices, if ebuyer use the same practice then I wont use them again either.
Not had anything delivered by the disreputable Yodel yet so cant comment on them.
I ordered a laptop but here was a problem with the billing address of the card I used. So I used a second card which was accepted. Have waited a week for it to be delivered today just to receive an email saying my order is now cancelled. I never received notification of any issue but apparently it's my fault for not checking whether payment was taken despite my order being showing allocated and having an estimated delivery date. Order now placed with http://www.saveonlaptops.co.uk/.
I have used eBuyer for over 5 years, and place regular orders with them on a weekly basis for components, laptops, and other items.
Never had one problem but the sad thing is it appears they have started using Yodel for delivery instead of parcelforce.
Yodel always give me problems, from delivering high value goods to random neighbours without leaving cards, or not bothering to come at all.
Because of this, I will now be avoiding using ebuyer as I avoid any business that deals with Yodel to save me the time and hassle that always occurs when yodel get involved.
Bad move ebuyer as I spend on average £2000 per month with you, I would happily pay more if I got to choose another courier
I recently ordered from ebuyer for the first time - a new monitor and a DVI cable. I paid £7 extra for postage to select "delivery on Thursday 7th March". However, the monitor itself was delivered 2 days early, meaning I had to go well out or my way to retrieve it. If I pay extra for the privilege of selecting a specific delivery date, then believe it or not, I exlect the delivery to happen on that date. I appreciate that some people might be able to receive the goods earlier than expected - and be grateful for this - but if this is going to happen, there really should be an option somewhere asking if you would like even earelier delivery if possible, or if you've selected that specific date for a reason.
The products themselves are fine, but charging so much for postage and then having one half arrive on Tuesday and the other on Wednesday - when Thursday was selected - is not acceptable. I appreciate that the second half was delivered by Royal Mail and that such discrepancies are inevitable. But the monitor itself was delivered by Parcel Force, who have complete control over when they deliver.
This may stop me from ordering again, as I work lates and can only ever accept things on Thursdays. I'd rather find a place that delivers when I ask... and pay for. It depends on how this is handled, really.
I have ordered parts from Ebuyer several times as emergency replacements for PCs for UK based trade shows and I've always been impressed with their service. Their support staff know what they're talking about and have helped me choose replacement motherboards and other parts on several occasions. Their fast shipping actually arrives quickly too (unlike some of their rivals).
Their prices are sometimes a little higher than other companies, but it's worth it for reliable shipping and customer service. On the rare occasions I've had to return something, refunds have been processed quickly.

Review of ebuyer www.ebuyer.com
I have been an ebuyer customer for a few years now without too much to complain about until now. I tried to purchase goods from ebuyer on the 19.02.2013 for delivery on the 26.02.2013 their website stated that the product was in stock and they took payment from my bank account. I contacted them on the 22.02.2013 to confirm that the order would be fulfilled and they stated that there was no problem after checking with their warehouse. On Monday the 25.02.2013 they changed the status of my order from pick in progress to order placed on their website all this being done without my knowledge or consent. So I naturally contacted them to try and find out what was going on. They then stated that the item was out of stock despite deceiving me on the Friday prior to that point I then pointed out that they had already taken the payment for Goods and service that they were not able or willing to provide this is Fraud as they knew they were unable to complete the order and they had not even bothered to contact me but just took my money from my account I informed them that I would begin action against them as they had breached the terms of the contract and the Law as well they had breached the Sale of Goods act the Distance of selling regulations and the Goods and services act. They then requested that I spend more money with them to upgrade the order for a different item to which I refused to do so as a decent company would have offered to upgrade the order at their own expense as Ebuyer have committed fraud clear and simple this call took 21 minutes at 10p a minute I might add. I then received a call back from another adviser who was again uncooperative and again I informed then that I would begin legal proceeding's against Ebuyer for the cost of the original order as well as replacement goods as they had fraudulently and blatantly breached the contract with myself those proceeding's are now under way using the above laws. This company are highly unprofessional and just plain dishonest as can be seen by the facts above in short I would not recommend this company but just state buyer beware and take from this information what you will.
See here response to Ebuyer statement
Once again more smoke and mirrors as you should be well aware y now Court Papers were issued against your fraudulent company on the 26.02.2013 they should have arrived by now and my claim for damages is plain to see. I will now point out again that your company's T&C do not supersede the laws of this country as your company have already tried to claim that they do. Your company will have to answer before a County Court Judge and as far as the claiming that you would not have known about your company's fraudulent actions untill the 25.02.2013 that is a complete lie as I contacted your company on the 22.02.2013 as stated above and your so called customer adviser contacted your warehouse and lied to me stating everything was alright and the Goods I had already paid for had been allocated to me as per contracted terms so again you wont get away with making dishonest statement's and you will have to answer before a County Court Judge were I will point out the fraud the lies and the fact that your company was offered a deal by me to prevent legal action being taken but your company completely refused to Co-operate and made it clear that you wanted this course of action.
Bought a cheap Sumvision tablet, decided it wasn't for me so I sent it back under the DSRs - no problem there. My return was received and i was told i would receive a refund once the RMA was closed - closed as of the 21st. I was also advised that the refund can take up to 3 working days to show on my card, ie today (not including the day the RMA was closed). However, i paid via Paypal, not card and the refund has not yet been sent. This is irritating as Paypal put a 3 working day hold on refunds usually anyway. I usually love Ebuyer for their great service and have never had a problem until now. I have to admit, although Ebuyer is usually my first stop for components and peripherals, this has made me think twice. If needs be i will have to open a dispute with Paypal.
Subject to contacting Ebuyer again i received a refund for the full amount today. I would recommend Ebuyer but be prepared for returns to be slow.
Ordered some kit - arrived very quickly. Unfortunately it was faulty.
Returned it and it took much longer to send replacement. Which I did receive BUT still waiting over a month later for my postage to be refunded!
I have returned faulty goods to Amazon - They paid postage upfront with a printable label.
So ebuyer OK if goods aren't faulty. But don't hold your breath if you have a problem!
Dreadful customer service with weasle approach to defective items insisting that every component should be inspected by customer before using. I have purchased from ebuyer for 10 years and will never use them again. Caveat emptor!
Ebuyer was recommended to me, and despite the fact that I usually use amazon because they are reliable, I went against my better judgement and ordered a sum vision tablet for next day delivery for my daughters birthday. The delivery company, Yodel, claim to have attempted to deliver the item twice and have left calling cards on both occasions, this is untrue as I haven't moved in 2 days, no cards have been left and I had an extremely noisy dog who alerts us to anyone coming within 10 ft of the house. I alerted ebuyer to to the problem at 5pm yesterday, they said the item would be delivered before 9pm yesterday, it wasn't. So today, my daughters birthday I rang ebuyer at 9.30 this morning, they said they would get onto the couriers and email me with the outcome, 1:30pm still no email or delivery, so another call to ebuyer who said the delivery SHOULD be delivered today, and they are very busy and had already looked into this for me!!!!! So we wait in again when we should be out for my daughters birthday tea, safe in he knowledge that ebuyer do not need or care about my business, and I sure my delivery will arrive sometime when they are less busy. Fingers crossed
Ordered from them for the first time and then i wanted the delivery faster than 5-7days so they happily changed it to a premium delivery for me and was very helpful lady on the phone that assisted me. I was kept up to date on my order and emailed details all the way. Would i buy again? Yes.
Ordered a pc for a client that I needed for next day. Only used Ebuyer because Amazon didn't have what I needed. Paid twice! what was listed for next day delivery. Credit card declined initial payment due to suspicion of dodgy site, guess they have had issues with ebuyer before. Reinstated payment after call with card and received email confirmation from Ebuyer at 17.12 that payment was confirmed and next day delivery set up. Showed on order that delivery was due for the day I wanted but no consignment number given for tracking. I finally called on delivery day and they informed me that orders for next day delivery stop at 17.00 tho it says til 1800 and even 18.00 -11.00 for £1 more on website. My order status is still saying the original delivery date which infuriates me. Poor communication and I would have waited in all day for the delivery. Misleading website information really annoys me.
Had insipid customer support person who had no solutions, only kept repeating the same sorry for inconvenience. Asked to speak to supervisor, no luck. Called back when I checked the terms and got another support person who at least got me a HALF refund on next day shipping as "good will gesture" I had already spent the amount on the phone call with their 10 p/minute ripoff charge so that was a wash. I informed her of the bad reputation this site is getting and it is the same complaint over and over again. She took it onboard that there are plenty of online ordering sites and they aren't going to survive with this sort of rep.
I have an IT company, so I am not ignorant of ordering bespoke hardware. I only bought thru Ebuyer as a distressed buy as my trade acct and Amazon didn't have the machine I wanted. I won't use them again, nor recommend them to clients. I now have to call my client with egg on my face and cancel my appt as the machine is not here. Not cool or professional, something I care about which Ebuyer doesn't seem to worry about.
Wasted over an hour on phone as I was charged extra for delivery because ''I lived in the Scottish Highlands''. Point blank refused to believe me when I said I was no where near the Highlands and that their own couriers web site said I was in same Zone for Delivery as all main areas in UK. One person even told me I did not live on UK mainland!!!! Paisley is pretty much on the mainland last I checked. Someone obviously could not be bothered entering correct postcodes in the delivery page...............after all it's only Scottish people who will be effected!!!!! Got a refund eventually but was told that in future as ....wait for it......I live in the Scottish Highlands I would have to pay the extra delivery and would not qualify for free next day delivery!
Sent the wrong item twice, asked us to arrange the return and then refused to credit all of the return delivery charge, quibbling over 30p.
We spend around £500 a month on toner and now purchase elsewhere.
I used ebuyer a long time ago and remember being very pleased with the service back then. Now the site has been significantly improved, it's a breeze to work with and find exactly what you need and the service is still superb.
I ordered my new monitor on Monday at about 7pm - selected the free 5 day delivery and it arrived on Wednesday at around 11am, super fast free delivery.
Clearly a number of people below have had a bad experience with ebuyer, which I'm surprised about, as it seems to me that ebuyer are doing most things right. I\d certainly recommend it to anyone and I'd say those who are reading the negative reviews below, should read between the lines of the complaints. Clearly some people have been unlucky and received a bad service but a lot of people are just complaining (and giving 1 star) for things that ebuyer cannot possibly control. Also take into account the fact that so many people who have received a good service don't feel the need to review it....it's usually love or hate with review systems like this.
So I had ordered £330 worth of computer hardware for next day delivery. Ebuyer duly carried out the order and delivered next day...Thats probably the bit that gives only 1 star and not zero..11pm cut off :).
After spending what is usually a 2 hour job to build a machine, ended up the entire day as the motherboard had been deemed faulty by conducting my own diagnostics and getting a 3rd party store to also check.
I called up Ebuyer to arrange for a direct replacement to be sent. They advised me it could take up to a week to be sent. With the computer being built for my sisters university work, that wasn't an option so the guy on the phone said to cancel my RMA (old one 1194064 new one 1194173), put it as a refund and and in the meantime pick a new product from them. I was asked to supply evidence of the fault which I did advising them what I had done diagnostics wise and also supplied images as per their request...They then advise me at 17:58 (2 mins before their dept shuts by email) that they won't give me a refund because they believe the damage on the motherboard is my own doing and this is why it won't work.
They have not provided me any evidence that its my fault only that it wouldn't pass their "quality control" in this state. That statement probably matches up with the shocking customer service. So essentially they are making an assumptions and as a result won't provide me a refund.
I've already responded to them and I'm awaiting my reply which will probably be again another palm off even though I've advised them of
* Sales of goods act
* Distance selling regulations
In summary - Used to be a very good company but now useless. It's no wonder they no longer win awards!.
Ordered 2 disks, both arrived defective, trying to return them, and its just so exceptionally painful and slow, I want a refund so I can buy something else from a decent company. In order to send something back your expected to phone them when your at work (they dont do any of this weekend nonsense like every other company does).
Further to my original comment their promise to sort things out is worthless, I am still waiting for a refund on the postage costs for the two defective items.
Hassle free refund given after around 17 days from new on a rma that couldnt be replaced, item cost £350 so it was'nt cheap.
Had to add this review as i'm giving credit where credit is deserved.
I suffered the misfortune yesterday of my computer blowing up on me. Being self-employed and needing a computer for work, I had to either buy one in a shop today or order one online with next day delivery. Fortunately, ebuyer do offer next day delivery (up to 11pm!), and so I was happy to order my laptop with them, especially since I had ordered my previous computer from them with good service. I added the £10 fee for next day delivery, and also an extra £1 fee for guaranteed pre-noon delivery so that I could get back to work straight away the next morning.
Midday comes and goes today with no sign of the laptop. A bit annoying, so I rang their customer service line and spoke to a lady who, whilst nice enough, advised me that the pre-noon checkbox was missing from my order (even though I did definitely select it), and it would therefore be at any time today. Annoying, but fair enough, mistakes happen.
At 1pm I decided to email into their customer service for extra clarification on the matter. To my horror, they then said that the item would be delivered on Monday. What?! Apparently it was because my payment didn't go through until 6am today and so they couldn't despatch in time. My question is - if it takes such time for payments to be processed, why bother advertising next day delivery up to 11pm? It's clearly never going to happen!
I then rang in again to air my views on this and at least try to get a Saturday delivery arranged (it was after all essential that I got this laptop ASAP for work). I spoke to a different lady this time, called Sam. Being a former customer service manager myself, I can barely put into words how poor this lady is at her job. How she is employed in a customer interacting role I don't think I'll ever know. As I was explaining the situation, she began interrupting me every 5 seconds or so, her voice increasingly raising, saying "BUT IT'S IN THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS". I said that whilst I appreciate the terms and conditions can say what they like, they are advertising on the front end of the website a service that they know they cannot provide.
After some more annoying interrupting and increasingly brash responses, I asked to speak to her manager. I was put on hold for 7 minutes, before the same lady from my initial phone call (who was nice enough) coming back on the line. She again was pleasant enough to talk to and extremely apologetic, but advised me that she could not process a Saturday delivery as the item has already been despatched, and the item would not be delivered until Monday.
This has forced me into a situation where I can either wait till Monday and lose 2 days work (being self-employed I don't get paid for any leave!), or I can go and buy another laptop now (essentially paying double what I had expected!) and have to deal with what is no doubt a very convoluted ebuyer returns policy.
Ebuyer should not advertise next day delivery up until 11pm when they already know they cannot provide this service. They get around this at the moment by appending a note to their terms and conditions (which are, at a minimum, 2 click throughs from product page). This should not happen and is false advertising. I will remain in contact with Ebuyer until this false advertising is removed from their site, as it, quite simply, has cost me a considerable amount of money.
It is a shame that I will not buy from Ebuyer again as they do offer reasonable prices, but unfortunately I have learned that they cannot be trusted to deliver to time, and also they have at least one bad egg in their customer service team.
EDIT: To respond to the response, the nicer customer service staff member told me on the phone that my payment went through at 5.58am the next day, and this is a common occurrence. She therefore agreed that ordering close to 11pm made it impossible to receive the goods on the next day and that it was false advertising - she then said she would pass this feedback on. I will be chasing this up with Ebuyer until the policy is amended to reflect the truth.
