Very good selection of rooms in both number and variety of locations and room types (hostel v hotel, etc) connected with Hostelworld. It's always the first place I look!

Go through the reviews and you should be getting a good sense of where you will be staying during your trip.

A must have travel tool for a fast and easy booking of a place.
An simple way to find a place to stay for your budget. It also allows you to have a history of the booked hostels.
Unfortunately, there is no way to add/review those places you walked in. There should also be a must fill in comment field if somebody rates a place lower as 4 stars!
Overall an accurate tool which keeps the time spent for looking places up low.

Extremely informative, easy to use
I used Hostelworl to book my entire lodging around Spain for 2 weeks and 5 cities. I was able to determine location, preferences and availability very quickly. I would definitely use it again. I found the ratings and comments from other users to be exactly correct.
The only suggestion I have is for improvement in the email capability within the site. A hostel claims I could email them via the site. I found the email section but it appeared not to work. I contact customer service and they stated it was not possible. If this is so, I wonder why it's an option in the drop down.

There is also helpful information regarding location, policies, amenities, and more. Especially helpful are the maps, which have helped me find the hostel every time, without too much trouble.

Hostelworld is really a good website if you want to book a hostel. You can find a specific hostel or just find any hostel in the city you want to stay. There are many hostels and the reviews of other travellers make it easy to find a great place to stay. You have to make a payment in advance.

Easy to use
Easy to use and accurate. Only dislike is that greater scrutiny isn't given to places that claim to be "hostels" but are more guesthouses. I know it isn't possible to visit every place that uses the site, but it would be good if more details had to be provided and confirmed when these locations register with the website.

Over my history and experience of hostel stays I've come to use Hostelworld as my default booking site for it is easy to use, easy to understand and most needed information are laid out in fine print.

Every thing is excellent, I find the Baccarat Hostel excellent
It is a very good location for whom can go by train, because it is very close. The staff are very gentle and the room is clean. Staff were very helpful and spoke good English. The hotel was easy to find and close to parking. It was an easy walk to the center of Nice. Very nice free champagne party, good socialization place. I recommand this hostel

I had a blast with my mates while staying at nomads fat camel in auckland, great location so close to queen street. The facilities were awesome, met heaps of people in our dormnand at night we could go drink in the bar down stairs! Great value for money :)

I have booked hostels for several stays throughout Europe in the last years, mainly in France and Spain. In most cases, I have used hostelworld.com. The different hostels can be easily compared to one another. And you can always find all information needed, such as rates, location, distance to city centre etc. The reviews of people from different countries create a very useful and reliable picture of the hostels. Also cancellation is not a problem at all, so that you are quite flexible if you have to postpone or cancel a trip. This website is just great.

The perfect choice
This hostel was recommended by a friend so i made the reservation without even looking at the web page and i have to say i have no regrets or complaints. The place is quiet, clean and cheap, the communication with the rest of the city is perfect (metro just across the street) and the buffet the restaurant next door offers for the people staying at the hostel is very good. I didn't spend much time there during the day so I cannot say anything about the nice time you may have sharing with other people (but the terrace looked great!)
