A bit slow but excelent products and great prices

I have ordered a second battery for my canon 6D and I received it quite fast (about 2 weaks), a few months later I was searching for some lens and read a review from trustpilots users and was a bit aprehensive about ordering the item. Even so, i've placed the order for a canon ef 24-105 f 4.0L and after that orderer a canon ef 70-200 f/2.8 IS L with the extender 2.0 III. The site said that the item was stock and that would be dispatched in 2-3 work days. It took more than a month and I had to be very patiently but I was able to track the item and it finally arrived ( one and a half months after the order). Even though the items were very well packed in original boxes and completely sealed. Great produts. Excellent quality at fair prices, I'm very please with the items and with simply electronics. I recommend its services and a lot of patience to the costummers.

Never, ever use this company!!!!

My son has been saving for a Galaxy Note 2 for months and we gave him the last £100 for his birthday which was Tuesday. We had previously ordered the phone so it was here on time, only to find the night before, the seal on the box was broken. When we inspected the phone, all the text is in Chinese and so is useless. Having registered a complaint and requested an immediate refund from Simply Electronics, we have had one email after another ignored. We are now ringing night after night and speaking to young girls who promise that something will be done 'within 24 hours'. We have supplied them with photos of the phone and have now been waiting for 2 days whilst the issue is passed to their 'logistics' department. I have absolutely no hope of getting the money but now expect to receive some empty promise when they read this complaint. I will keep you posted. !!!!

Pleasantly surprised

I ordered a Canon S120 from Simply Electronics and was sucked in by the low price, and hadn't realised it wasn't based in UK before placing the order.

Having then checked review sites such as this I was slightly concerned although paying by credit card does have its advantages from a consumer protection so not unduly worried.

The order has been delivered within the 10 WDs advertised on their website and I have to say I was very pleased with the updates I received every step of the way, even to one submitted to their customer support querying when it would be dispatched as it took a 4 or 5 days to get to that status despite being in stock. The response was in hours not days.

Maybe they are starting to change their customer service as there are very mixed reviews on here and other sites but I have no complaints whatsoever. As long as you are prepared to wait a couple of weeks for your order they delivered....at least for me.

Don't use this company

I order the samsung galaxy note 3 from this company brcause the price was brilliant. However I had an email informing me the item would take between 4and 10 days to arrive... after a week of checking my status for delivery nothing was happening. I contacted customer services to be told that it was packed and would be with me for the begining of thw next week. I can live with that for such low costs waiting isnt too much of a problem. Well come half way through the next week still no phone and not dispatched. So I contacted the customer services again. They appologised for the delay and said they would sorr this problem out. I asked where the item eas coming from so I knew what type of time frame delivery would be and was told the uk. This morning I have had an email saying my item has been dispatched... great but the item is in the netherlands... I know my geography isnt brilliant but last time I checked the netherlands is NOT the UK!. I have also now passed the 4-10 day delivery timescale... how much longer will I have to wait. Wished I had paid the extra I might have something to show for my money now.

Price of the product

Purchased a Garmin Forerunner 10 as a gift. The item was £20 cheaper than other sites. The item arrived within the timescale quoted. The item was well packaged and delivery was via a courier with text updates on delivery times. I read some very negative reviews about this site after I had purchased the item, however based on this experience I have nothing bad to say. The item arrived within the timescale quoted, the price was very competitive and I could track the item at all stages.

....somewhat dubious...

I placed an order with Simply Electronics, for a very reasonably priced Samsung Galaxy Note3. Very happy with the price. No qualms there.

The service.

I come a service orientated background, and quite honestly the service has been shocking. (I would say deplorabke, but i am hesitant to use such strong terms so early on)

From the very beginning, the website showed no clear differentiation between a delivery and billing address, so my item automatically went to my billing address. Now, i live in an apartment building where a lot of people miss deliveries, so, i wanted to send to a different address.i emailed the reply to address on my confirmation email and waited a couple of days....to then get an email back stating i needed to send ID of my billing address......

.....the payment of a few hundred pounds had just gone through, not days before, confirming my billing address, (otherwise the transaction would have declined) so why was this needed? My subsequent email asking exactly this, was ignored, and only when i emailed directly from the automated feedback section from the website stating to go ahead with the order as clearly changing the address was far too problematic, i got an instant response stating my order would be on its way within days. Completley ignoring my earlier request of an address change?!

A week has now past since then....and yes unbelieveble price.....but still havnt used the phone that the money has now come out of my account for. So i decide to ring them. Why not. I cant exactly tell yiu where they are even based....


10 minutes on hold...(not bad compared to some 'helplines') and i get through to the (no offence) hired help. I gave an order number and told that the order was confirmed, packaged and awaiting dispatch.......fine. apart from the website which has been telling me this for days.

So i ask where is it being despatched from? Is it UK or America? So i can get an understanding on timescale etc....the instant reply was "where are you based?" To which i replied "UK"....
"Oh it will be within a few days"
Not replying my earlier question...
"Oh, within the UK" when pressed...
Then the obligatory,
"...is there anything else i can help with?"
End.

So now,

- I have followed all instructions from this company
- Paid what is owed
- Followed up through all means possible about my order
- Been patient, I understand logistics doesnt always go too smooth...
- Havnt persisted or nagged throughout

...and yet not a shred of honesty or decency from this company...

When i get this product. Fine. I commend the low price....but is this service really worth it?

Exactly as promised!

This was my second purchase from Simply Electronics and both transactions went through smoothly.
If you can stand a 2-3 week wait (don't be too optimistic that it will be much less), you can save upwards of 20% on Amazon's prices.
Shipped directly from HK, you will be given a delivery slot accurate to within one hour. What's more, I can confirm that VAT and import duty were included - the price they advertise is the price you pay.

Slow delivery but huge savings!!

I bought my samsung galaxy note 3 from this website. I was initially sceptical of using the website as a lot of reviews I have read are very negative about this retailer. However I noticed the negativity was due to slow delivery and not the products themselves.

I proceeded to place my order which did take 11 days to get to me. Granted this is slow compared to other retailers HOWEVER I did save over £150 on my product compared to other retailers! The product itself is legit and works perfectly. It was also delivered using DPD who are a reputable company.

So ask yourself is, are you prepared to be patient for your product and save money? If so then I would recommended Simply Electronics. If you are in a hurry then go elsewhere.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!

I ordered a Garmin Forerunner 10 GPS running watch which was showing (and always has been, to this day) as ''In stock'' on their website in January 2014. It was clearly NEVER in in stock and after about 3 weeks of waiting for it I FNALLY got through to them on the phone to be told that it wasn't in stock. After that, it took me almost two months of emails to eventually get a refund.

I foolishly didn't look into the company before ordering; their business model is obviously to 'Simply' offer the lowest price on 'Electronics' (hence the name!) which they never have, or intend to have, in stock and to take customers' money to keep it a long as possible, in the hope that customer might eventually give up on trying to get their money back!

After two months, I had to threaten to report them to the Hong Kong consumer council; upon which I received a refund the same day.

In fairness; on the rare occasion you manage to get hold of a Customer Service rep, they are pleasant (though always claim it is a different department you need to be speaking to!) It's probably not their fault that the company is a just a fraudulent, empty web-shopfront and a way of keeping sums of money from unsuspecting customers for as long as possible!

They ought to be shut down and I have no idea why they are still trading after all the complaints on this and other websites!

Awful - do not use this company

I tried to order a nokia lumia 1020 on their website, it wouldn't let me place the order and their phone number wasn't working? The only option was to leave a message and they would email you back. I received an email requesting details of the product I wanted to order the next day and an invoice to pay for the order within a couple of hours. The website stated delivery of 2-3 days and offered a 30 day cooling off period as well, so, with that I purchased the phone.

After 2 days I changed my mind, this was due to the actual delivery date being 4-10 working days which is completely different from the 2-3 days originally stated. So I emailed the sales contact and also went through the simply electronics website to advise I wanted to cancel, I heard nothing for two days!

I then went on the website and found all of these terrible reviews about this company and realised that the company is actually in Hong Kong!

On the 3rd day of no responses I went through the website and raised another ticket selecting the option they provide "I want to cancel my order" I received their automated response to say someone would reply within 1 day. Then about 3 hours later I received another email saying that to process my order they need a utility bill to prove I am me! Completely opposite to the reason I contacted them for! There was a number on the email, 0203 393 8258, I called this and they were useless, they could not understand me and just kept telling me to email. I tried to explain that I had and they were not responding to me and the only time they did was with the opposite resolution but it was clear she would not help me. I then emailed the person on the email that you are asked to send your details to, leslie@simplyelectronics.net, and explained I wanted to cancel my order and again I've heard nothing.

I feel totally let down and do not understand how this company is still operating!

Abysmal service with unbelievable excuses in this day and age

Like so many others, I foolishly didn't check Simply Electronics before ordering £1600+ worth of camera and lens. After 5 working days had passed I contacted customer services and was told that it CAN take up to 10 working days to dispatch. What they should have said is it almost always takes at least 10 working days. 8 working days and my order status changes to packed-awaiting courier. 10 working days and a back log suddenly appears. No explanation as to how I went from awaiting courier to back log. Then told I was I was a priority customer. Cancelled order and was offered 4 GB memory card!! Useless. As no items were sent a refund should surely be a very easy task. Nope, please wait 14 days. 8th of this month I ordered my camera body through DigitalRev, Hong Kong, arrived 48hrs later.
I will never use Simply Electronics again and if my refund is to in my bank by the 14th day then trading standards and the fraud squad will be getting letters, emails and phone calls from me.
DO NOT USE THEM.

Cheap but could improve service

Goods were cheap but the dispatch could be quicker. If sending email then don't reply to a previous one but instead log in and use the one on the web. If the dispatch was quicker it would be a very good site.
I returned my goods as I needed a phone and it didn't arrive in time.

Appauling service on all levels

Ordered a GoPro camera online when website reported 17 in stock. Informed over a week later than none were available and asked if I would like to choose something else. Chose alternative camera and informed several days later that there were delays. Due to work commitments that required camera earlier, decided to cancel order and ask for refund. Despite receiving acknowledgement that I had cancelled order, still kept getting e-mail messages that camera was going to be delivered. Also received e-mails suggesting that it might take up to two weeks to get a refund. Sent further messages asking them to prevent dispatch and made phone call to same effect. Four days after decision to cancel and receiving acknowledgement that order has been cancelled, I received further e-mails to tell me that item had been dispatched. Phoned courier (DPD) to ask them to prevent delivery. DPD assured me that item would be returned to sender and not delivered. Camera delivered anyway and now I have to extract a request from Simply Electronics to instruct DPD to pick up item and return it to them. This has been a total fiasco from beginning to end and I will never use Simply Electronics again and will never recommend anyone else to use them. Does anyone know have a contact for the CEO of the organisation? I am seriously considering selling the camera on ebay as a quicker and less painless way to get my money back. Hopeless in every way, or deliberately obstructive to make refunds/returns so impossible that people just lose the will to live and cut their losses. This is no way to conduct a business.
P.S. Trust Pilot here requires me to give a star rating but I have just discovered that it is impossible to give a no-star rating. I give one star just so that I can post this review, but would gladly take it away given the opportunity. Not so trusty Trust Pilot, are you?

This company took money from me on the 3rd of march. Due to false statements of when the item would arrive after three weeks I cancelled and purchased elsewhere cheaper! Now five weeks later iafter many phone calls and promises and emails they still haven't refunded. Terrible company do not use.

Wrong Canon EOS 70

Hi
Found this site advertised on Ebay and it promised a Canon EOS 70, kit lens and flash gun for virtually the same price as the body alone in the UK.
To good to be true........................?
To right it was.
Despite their claims of 4 - 10 days delivery, it was ordered on 31st January 2014 and delivered on 20th February, (despite the fact it was in stock) It was 4th Feb before they billed me, then your order spends several days having stock 'allocated' to it. Then several days waiting in packing waiting for a courier to collect it. Their claim of 4 - 10 (working)days delivery was well and truly stretched. This before your order has arrived.
The camera comes and is not the same as advertised on the web site.
It is returned and I am still waiting on my refund after dozens of emails.
I have been in touch with my bank and it looks like they will reimburse me.
Avoid this shower like the plague, you only get what you pay for, shocking after sales service

This is not a company to do business with!

In September 2013 I placed an order with Simply Electronics for a Canon Ixus 255 HS camera. I was happy to do so as their website gives the appearance of it being a British company and I thought any order I placed with them, would be protected by British consumer law. On subsequent investigation it turned out to be based in Hong Kong and although clicking to pay by Mastercard, Paypal took the payment from my credit card. Right away the timing of their delivery promise was exceeded and when I sent an email cancelling the order, as I required the camera for a holiday I was about to go on, they pretended they hadn’t received it. But, .... lo and behold .... the camera was finally dispatched that same day, well after the promised delivery date!!
Unfortunately, the camera turned out to be faulty. I contacted Canon in the first instance to see about getting the fault repaired and was advised that the Warranty that came with the camera, would not be valid in the U.K. and because Simply Electronics is based in Hong Kong, it would only be valid in Hong Kong. I therefore contacted Simply Electronic's Customer Services via their website and followed their instructions for sending the camera back for repair under Warranty. It was sent to the address on the pre-paid label (Cycleon in Milton Keynes) together with the completed RMA Warranty Claims Form, (both of which had to be printed off), on February 11th, 2014 and the parcel was delivered to that address on February 14th, 2014, confirmed by Royal Mail Tracking. Since then, I have heard absolutely nothing from anyone about my camera, despite phoning and emailing the company many times. On each occasion I have made contact, I have been assured either verbally, or by email, that the matter is being dealt with, that they will be in contact with me within 24 hours with an update. This has never happened – not entirely surprising I suppose when their promised timings, either in fulfilling orders or dealing with faulty products, are not adhered to either.
Simply Electronics took my money in September, they now have my camera and I have absolutely nothing to show for the money I paid them!
My advice is DON'T DEAL WITH THIS COMPANY, and from the many, many reviews I have now read about Simply Electronics on sites such as eBay, Amazon and Money Saving Expert to name but a few, (heartily wishing I’d read them before I placed my order) this is also the opinion of the majority of their customers. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!

Very long wait for refund, very slow to respond, UK imports incur customs duty and courier fees.

This company is based in Hong Kong and your good are shipped directly from there making you liable for import tax and associated courier fees. They have tried to hide this fact on their website and several days after placing my order I found out there may be import fees, and that additionally they had not despatched the item yet. I contacted them and received a reply two days later that admitted there may be import fees but they made 'special arrangements' to avoid them. I replied back and asked them to cancel the order and issue a refund if they were unable to guarantee there would be no further fees and charges. They did not reply however the order status changed to various forms of 'we are processing your refund', ' a refund request has been issued' and other such messages designed to stall the customer while they delay the refund as long as possible.

They charged my card on the day of the order but it takes a very long time to refund, this can only be deliberate.

--Update 14th April 2014. Simply Electronics have replied to this post stating that an agent will contact me. They have not contacted me and they have not refunded me. I think they are just trying to limit the damage created by the thousands of negative reviews of the appaling service.

My Sennheiser Momentum Headphones arrived 8 days from ordering, ahead of the expected 10 day delivery time. Despite many of the negative reviews of Simply Electronics, I'm one happy customer!

Have nothing to do with Simply Electronics!

I ordered a Samsung tablet and a Mack Computer Warranty from Simply Electronics on 12 February. According to their website, the tablet was in stock and usually dispatched in 2-3 business days. They took the money from my bank account on 18 February.
On 21 February, I emailed them as my order status hadn't changed from "still processing". They told me that the reason for the delay was that the warranty was currently unavailable. I therefore cancelled my order.
Simply Electronics changed my order status to “Your refund is on priority rank and is being treated with precedence. We will contact you once the refund is finalized”. Well, when they eventually processed the refund, they did contact me, but not until 4 April. Is it a coincidence, I wonder, that I had to wait until the new tax year to get my money back - 8 April, 50 days after they took it from my bank account.
Between cancelling my order and getting the refund, I initiated every email conversation. Each of my emails was met with sincere apologies, and assurances that Simply Electronics were treating the matter very seriously. They told me that they had sent an urgent request to their relevant department to find out what was the cause of the delay. And they assured me that refunds on the whole are normally processed much quicker. Yes, really.
